Tech Elevator Reflects: 10 Things We Are Thankful for in 2022
Tech Elevator’s team, along with our growing alumni, hiring and community partner networks, have so much to be thankful for as 2022 comes to a close.
A lot has transpired over the past year: COVID-19 lockdowns were slowly lifted as we started to navigate this “new normal,” the Cincinnati Bengals competed in the Superbowl, we came together to support the 2022 Winter Olympics, and humpback whales moved off of the endangered species list.
At Tech Elevator, we recognize that the past year has presented the world with various challenges, but there is still so much to be thankful for as we look ahead to 2023. That’s why we’d like to take this opportunity to be grateful as we kick off the holiday season. Below are the top 10 things we are thankful for this year!
1. A Return to In-Person Learning
After deciding it was the right time and safe for everyone, we returned to in-person teaching in May! Our physical campuses re-opened their classrooms and our students were able to return to Tech Elevator’s in-person instruction model. While we continue to have a thriving remote option through Tech Elevator’s National Live Remote program, we are all glad to be back to how it all started–face-to-face in the classroom collaborating on the next big project.
2. Tech Elevator’s TEam Keeps Growing
Tech Elevator’s team is growing! In 2022 our staff reached a record-breaking 165+ individuals—with our team growing 79% and expanding to all corners of the U.S. There’s still more room to grow, take a look at our open roles and join the TEam!
All this growth doesn’t just mean more people on the Zoom call, but also an expanding network of friends and family supporting our incredible staff. We saw four marriages, two babies born, and a few members of our TEam became grandparents. We are so excited for our team’s growth and knowing it will help us propel the next generation of tech leaders forward in their careers.
3. Our First In-Person, All-Team Meeting in Two Years
With our growing team and COVID-19 winding down, we were also able to hold our first Tech Elevator All-Team meeting since before the pandemic began! Our team came from all over the U.S. to meet at our headquarters in Cleveland, OH for some well-deserved recognitions and goal setting for the future.
4. Next-level Hiring Network
Not only has our team grown, but our hiring network has grown as well. Tech Elevator now has over 750 hiring partners in our growing network, spanning more industries than ever before. This hiring network not only offers our graduates and alumni jobs, but they also interact with our students in employer showcases and hiring panels. Whether you attend one of our in-person campus locations or join us remotely, we have a hiring company ready for you.
5. Two Years of Our Represent Tech Scholarship
2022 was Tech Elevator’s second year in a row offering our Represent Tech Scholarship. By launching this scholarship, we established our commitment to reduce barriers to opportunity, increase diversity within our classrooms and help our hiring partners foster an inclusive technology workforce.
The Represent Tech Scholarship has distributed over $1.2 Million in scholarship funds and has been awarded to 109 students across the country.
6. Launched the Part-Time Coding Bootcamp
You asked and we listened. In a continued effort to increase accessibility to our career-changing program, we launched a part-time version of our coding bootcamp in 2022. Tech Elevator’s Part-Time coding bootcamp helps students attain the same technical knowledge as our full-time program but with more flexible hours.
7. Tech Elevator’s Growing Alumni Network
As Tech Elevator continues to grow, so does our alumni network. We now have over 3,500+ Tech Elevator graduates all over the United States – and our network is growing daily!
8. New Community Hubs Across the Country
With all of this growth, it was only a matter of time before we started gaining a stronger presence in new cities and growing communities. To help support those growing communities and foster new connectivity moving forward, Tech Elevator has hired Market Leaders in cities like Jersey City, Houston, D.C., Chicago, and many more to come. Look to see if there is a Tech Elevator community in your area. We’d love to connect and talk tech!
9. Tech Elevator’s Reskilling Program
As we’ve grown and further committed to elevating people, companies and communities, we’ve also expanded our offerings to companies looking to reskill their workforces with tech skills. Some of our notable partnerships include working with Niantic, KeyBank and JPMC. Through partnerships like these, we’ve reskilled over 850 individuals and are eager to continue transforming tech teams with our invaluable partners.
10. Tech Elevator’s CEO is on the Forbes Technology Council
We’re always happy when a member of the team reaches new heights, that goes for our leadership team too! This year, Tech Elevator’s Co-founder and CEO, Anthony Hughes, became a member of the Forbes Technology Council. Check out his profile and contributions to Forbes.
