Co-Founder & Chief Academic Officer
Prior to Tech Elevator, I was...
an Application Architect for an application that collects online payments worth $150 billion a year for the U.S. federal government.
The students at Tech Elevator...
keep me on my toes.
The best part of my day is...
when I get to participate in a student's "Heureka!" moment when a difficult concept suddenly comes into focus.
David has over 12 years of experience developing software systems in Fortune 500 companies and the U.S. Federal government. He’s led large teams, mentored and trained junior developers, and most recently rebuilt the US Treasury's Pay.gov system which touches millions of users and processes over $100BN in payments annually.
Throughout his career, David has embraced mentorship roles and has been recognized as a patient and engaged teacher. His teaching experience began while he was still in college as an instructor for adult software classes at Gateway. More recently, he's led team code reviews and taught internal training sessions on secure programming and test-driven development.
During the last eight years as a senior software developer and architect, David has had the opportunity to interview, hire and mentor dozens of programmers. By doing so he's developed a keen eye for the traits that differentiate those who are successful and elevate to become leaders. He enjoys sharing his knowledge and his observations with students of Tech Elevator.
