They ensure that data is accurate, reliable, accessible, and safe. In particular, a database architect is responsible for the design and implementation of new systems. The best-paid database architects work for computer infrastructure teams, which may include data processing, web hosting, and similar services.

Software developers are well-paid – with salary growth potential still rising. An article from Dice states that software developer income grew by 6.5% between 2022 and 2023, placing it second on their list of fastest-growing tech salaries. The median salary for all software developers is $132,270 and the top 10% earn over $208,000.
One of the most promising aspects of software development is that it doesn’t necessarily require a college degree or prior experience. Many aspiring software developers train through self-education, coding bootcamps, company in-house training opportunities, and other educational options.
