Tech Elevator’s Privacy Policy is designed with the student in mind. Our goal is to provide clarity on the information collected and the usage of that information to ensure that you feel secure and protected with the collection and data storage of your personal information.  This policy exemplifies our online collection on Tech Elevator’s website and physical collection intake from Tech Elevator’s employees. We encourage you to review our Privacy Policy regularly for any changes that might occur. We reserve the right at any time in our sole discretion to revise or update this Privacy Policy. As a growing company our desire is to ensure continuous protection. If a significant change is made, Tech Elevator will ensure updates are made and posted publicly online and in the school catalog.  Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. If you do not agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy, then do not access or use the Site or the Services. Continuing to use the Site after we publish or communicate a notice about any changes to this Privacy Policy constitutes binding acceptance of those changes. Information Collected & Usage

The types of personal information we collect may include:

  • Contact Information
    Such as email address, postal address, billing address and phone number, is collected to make contact with students regarding inquiries and enrollment.

  • Identity Information
    Such as first name, last name, social security number and date of birth is collected to identify students. Identifying Information can be utilized to surpass Admissions and Reporting Requirements, and to maintain internal records as a means of compliance with our state governing bodies.

  • Demographic Information
    Such as gender, race, ethnicity and sexual orientation is collected as a benchmark to determine if Tech Elevator’s goal of increasing diversity in our student body is actually occurring. Access to this information is limited to certain parties for internal auditing purposes only to limit the possibility of bias. 

  • Historical Information
    Such as employment and education information are collected for use in showing trends in historical data as well as for use in our Nationally Recognized Pathway Program to set expectations for a student’s job search.

  • Performance Data
    Such as completion rate, placement rate and drop rate are collected to provide data to local and state bodies as proof of performance standards that govern Tech Elevator's right to service students, and students' ability to receive government funding through Tech Elevator.

Collection Methods of Personal Information

  • Contact us directly to request information about the Services;

  • Apply to attend educational programs or any other Services on the Website or third-party websites;

  • Register for events or workshops offered by us or any third-party organizations that we partner with;

  • Shared information provided by the student and disbursed to Tech Elevator from any third party organizations or groups that we partner with;

  • Provide information in response to surveys, promotional messaging and event solicitations;

  • Submit inquiries regarding the Services, speaking or communicating with our admissions or enrollment team members, or requesting access information from us, including newsletters or other marketing materials;

  • Engage with us on various social media channels such as Reddit, LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter.

Protection of Your Information

We maintain administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information that we collect against accidental, unlawful or unauthorized destruction, loss, alteration, access, disclosure or use. 

We limit access to any social security numbers to members of our Compliance team only, and social security numbers are protected in transit and at rest through encryption and a secure connection.

Unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failure, and other factors may compromise the security of information about you at any time, and we bear no liability for uses or disclosures of personal information or other data arising in connection with theft of the information or other malicious actions.

Tech Elevator’s Privacy Policy does not apply to third parties with whom you may become involved with during your lifespan at Tech Elevator. Your lifespan at Tech Elevator can be defined at the time of initial engagement through your status as alumni with us.  Our website and services may contain links to other sites that are not owned or operated by us. If you click on a third party link, you will be directed to that third party’s site. We strongly advise you to review the privacy policy of every website you visit in order to know how they collect and use private information. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third party sites or services.

Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as is necessary for the processing purpose(s) for which the data was collected, and any other permissible, related purpose. Our retention periods for social security numbers are based on our needs and legal requirements. When we no longer need social security numbers we collect, we securely destroy the information, unless required by applicable law to retain the information for a specific retention period.
